Daily Cinema: The Blackbird (1926)

I don't often get the chance to feature silent films for SUTS but I got to choose one today. The Blackbird stars Lon Chaney as a kind-hearted bishop who is well-respected among his congregation, but doubles by night as a thief called The Blackbird. He sets his sights on a woman and in order to steal her (see what I did there lol.....ugh. I'll see myself out) away from a man who's also interested in her, he uses his daytime persona as a priest to expose the other man as a fraud. His goal is to use both of his personas to get the girl and remain undetected, but I can imagine this becomes difficult to impossible with his ex-wife in the same area.

If you watch The Blackbird today, don't forget to use the tag #atvdailycinema while you're online so I can see what you think about the film. If you watch any of the other films and would like to converse with others participating in SUTS, use the tag #SummerUnderTheStars. See you tomorrow!
