This movie is described as a propaganda war film set during World War II and stars Franchot Tone as a pilot named George, who volunteers for a suicide mission to bomb a Japanese aircraft carrier. The commander over the small unit of friends asks the other 4 soldiers who volunteered for the mission, Gene Kelly's Vito being one of them, to tell him about their friend and what led him to this decision. I always hear about Gene Kelly's work in musicals, so I wanted to feature a different kind of film.
If you'd like to join others talking about the movies in today's lineup, you can follow along using the tags #KellyTCM and #SUTS. If you watch Pilot #5, use the tag #atvdailycinema so I can see what you think about it. See you tomorrow!
