Today's #atvdailycinema pick is coming on rather late, but since it's Friday I hope you'll stay up to watch it with me. In this film, George Sanders stars as an ambitious womanizer named Georges, who charms the panties off of prominent society women in Paris in order to get the status he desires. In the process, he meets a widow named Clotilde (Lansbury), whose love for him does nothing to sway him from his ambitions as he prefers not to think with his heart. I didn't want to read the entire synopsis, but Georges begins to string Clotilde along while continuing on his goal to rise to the top of Parisian society so I'm thinking we're either going to get a sad or bittersweet ending here. My first exposure to Angela Lansbury was from Murder, She Wrote (hello, fellow '80s babies! lol) and Jessica Fletcher is a far cry from the character of Clotilde, at least imo. I'm excited to see it, if for no other reason than to see how it ends.

If you're on social media during any of today's films, use the tag #summerunderthestars to join the conversation, and if you decide to watch The Private Affairs of Bel Ami, use the #atvdailycinema tag so we can talk. See you tomorrow!
