Daily Cinema: On the Waterfront (1954)

On the Waterfront stars Karl Malden as a local parish priest in a neighborhood ruled by the mob. Lee J. Cobb also stars as Friendly (dat irony doe LOL) , the mobster in charge, who uses his power to control both the neighborhood and the nearby waterfront docks. Marlon Brando co-stars as the young upstart who gets dragged into doing Friendly's bidding for him. It is a murder at the beginning of the movie that initially brings Malden's Father Barry under fire from the residents. This is the primetime film, so hopefully you're home to watch it with me.
