This week's TNT is the 1945 spy film The House on 92nd Street, with William Eythe, Lloyd Nolan & Signe Hasso.
This black-and-white flick stars Eythe as a university student who gets drawn into a counterespionage operation between the Nazis and the FBI due to his German heritage. After being approached by Nazi recruiters, he details the meeting to the FBI, who encourage him to feign interest in order to learn more information about the Nazi's movements and procedures. This movie is rumored to be loosely based upon the real life Duquesne Spy Saga during WW2, which resulted in the successful capture of 33 Nazi agents. I'm pissed I won't be able to watch. Here's the trailer:
This movie comes on at our regular TNT time of 8PM this Thursday on TCM.
Hope you'll be watching! I haven't seen any related tweets yet, but if you do decide to watch and you're on Twitter, don't forget to tag your movie-related tweets with #atvTNT so I can see them. Have a wonderful week!
