Summer Under the Stars Day 3: Alec Guinness

Alec Guinness takes center stage on this third day of Summer Under the Stars.
You know I had no idea he played Obi-Wan in Star Wars? LOL That's not really my kind of flick so I didn't really expect to know, but still. I had no idea Alec Guinness had had such longevity in the film industry. I got a look at the description for the movies that will be showing today and I still have not been able to choose just one for the Daily Cinema selection! Almost every movie being shown sounds like a contender for Daily Cinema and I'm having an incredibly hard time choosing a film. We've got Gina Lollobrigida in one, Bette Davis in another, Rosalind Russell in another and Peter O'Toole in yet another. How do you choose?? Most of these flicks are comedies, so obviously he had good timing and was good at it. I have yet to see any of his movies (Star Wars included, obviously) so I don't really have too much to say other than that from the looks of things, this promises to be quite an interesting day of movies. I gotta make sure I have junk food on hand, but otherwise I'm going to enjoy this Saturday at home.

Daily Cinema Selection: Kind Hearts and Coronets

Now like I was saying above, it was pretty difficult for me to choose just one flick for the Daily Cinema selection. I ended up going with this one because how often do you see the same guy playing not one, but eight members of the same family?? Most of the time you see someone like Eddie Murphy or Martin Lawrence taking on the multiple family member roles, so to see someone that looks as distinguished as Alec Guinness was doing the same thing must be a hoot. Kind Hearts and Coronets is about a man who wants to obtain a particular fortune so badly that he resorts to killing anyone who stands in his way, including family (which is where these eight family members played by Sir Alec come in). The plot sounds hilarious and I can't wait to see it. Here's the trailer:
