I have to admit that there was some difficulty in choosing today's movie since my play husband is in two of today's films, but Spencer Tracy was in a few of them as well and it was hard not to feature that. At the same time though, I didn't want to make the day about their movies together. This sounds especially contradictory considering the movie I chose, LOL, which is 1949's Adam's Rib. I chose this because I have to see how the friction between this married couple plays out. Tracy and Hepburn play a married couple that have to take opposite sides of an argument in court and it sounds like hijinks are going to ensue for sure. If Adam's Rib isn't your thing, I'd suggest either Bringing Up Baby, which pairs my play husband with today's star in what is recognized as the signature slapstick comedy, or 1946's Undercurrent, which is a film noir about a woman who comes to realize that there are more than a couple of secrets about her husband and his brother, one of whom might be a psychopath. They all sound like great choices for the #atvdailycinema, at least to me. Can you believe we're already 7 days into this year's festival? Happy viewing and see you tomorrow!
