In this politically-themed satire dramedy, Charlie plays both the protagonist, A Jewish Barber (which is actually the character's listed name in the credits) and the antagonist Adenoid Hynkel, a dictator, and through sheer coincidence, the two end up switching identities when the other's camp mistakes them for each other. The Great Dictator was the most successful of Charlie Chaplin's movies and was also his first official 'talkie.' Here's the trailer:
The Great Dictator will be on this Thursday at 5:45pm EST. It's a little earlier than our normal TNT because a documentary on Charlie Chaplin will be on at 8pm and I wanted to make sure we featured an actual movie.
