Another day where I struggled to choose just one movie for the Daily Cinema. I was stuck between The Thin Man and The Girl Who Had Everything, but I finally settled on The Thin Man. In this movie, which is the first in a series of movies centered around 'The Thin Man,' Powell teams up with Myrna Loy as a married couple, he a recently retired detective named Nick and she a socialite named Nora. One of his friends mysteriously vanishes after a murder, leading the police to suspect that he was the killer. After being convinced to take the case by his friend's concerned daughter, he uncovers a lot more than he bargained for. Although this sounds like a really intense drama, it's a dramedy so I wonder how the comedy will be worked into the plot. If you're on Twitter for today's movies, you can use the tag #PowellTCM and #atvpowell during the Daily Cinema so I can see your movie-related tweets. See you tomorrow!
