Welcome to February, everyone! The month of luuuuv. Black History Month. The shortest month of the year. One of the hardest months for elementary school kids to spell. Okay, I'm out of comparisons. lol Anywho, our first TNT this month is 1966's Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
This movie, based off the 1962 play of the same name, stars Elizabeth Taylor (who won an Academy Award for her role in this film) and Richard Burton (who was nominated for his role) as an unhappily(?) married couple who, over a night of drinks with a younger couple, end up revealing their darkest secrets. I have yet to see Taylor and Burton on the screen together, save for Cleopatra, which was always too long for me to pay attention to. lol This is described as a black comedy drama, so either the funny moments are darker than a usual comedy, or the comedic parts can be taken seriously as well. I don't know. lol Here's the trailer:
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? comes on this Thursday at 8pm EST.
I also have an optional Double Feature I wanted to include really quick before I close this post. Right before Who's Afraid? comes on, the 1967 suspense Wait Until Dark, starring Audrey Hepburn and Alan Arkin, will be airing and I highly recommend this movie. Hepburn stars as a blind woman who ends up having to take on two criminals who take over her home. I watched this a couple of years ago during Audrey Hepburn's day for SUTS, and even though I didn't think I'd like it, I ended up really enjoying the movie. So if you have already seen our actual TNT, don't like our actual TNT or just want to watch something different, I suggest Wait Until Dark. This movie will be on at 6pm EST. But anywho, back to our actual movie for this week.
*Mandy's note: After three years of hell, I finally switched ISPs on Friday, so hopefully the 'Net problems of old are behind me and I can post on schedule! Yay! Now that I have one less excuse to be late with my posts, let's see if I can do it. LOL
