Mexican Spitfire is the first in a series of comedies starring Lupe Velez as the titular 'Mexican Spitfire' Carmelita. In the first film of the series, fiery Carmelita meets and falls in love with businessman Dennis while the latter is visiting Mexico, and he brings her back home with him. His aunt disapproves and enlists Dennis's ex to help break the two up. This is the first film I'm seeing of Lupe Velez's and I can't wait to see if it's as funny as I've always heard it was. If you watch it, tag your thoughts with #atvdailycinema, or use #suts or #summerunderthestars if you're watching any of the other films in today's lineup. See you tomorrow!
