Howdy! I apologize this is going up so late. I'll be prepping the rest of the month's posts tonight so that it doesn't happen again. We have a fun night ahead of us on Thursday as TCM is celebrating with a few Walt Disney shorts and movies, so we actually have more than one TNT this Thursday. First, we'll be getting a series of shorts. We'll be getting the 1937 cartoon Beach Picnic first, followed by the 1953 short The Simple Things, and lastly the 1937 cartoon Hawaiian Holiday.
In Beach Picnic, Donald Duck has to battle with a group of rowdy ants to keep them from stealing his lunch. The Simple Things shows us what happens when Mickey Mouse and Pluto try to plan a day of fishing and in Hawaiian Holiday, the gang goes away on vacation but quickly encounters a few obstacles that threaten to ruin their good time. If you're less interested in cartoons though, our actual TNT of the night is the 1957 adventure film Johnny Tremain.
Johnny Tremain stars Hal Stalmaster, Luana Patten and Jeff York in an adventure about a young apprentice to a silversmith who encounters one Paul Revere before joining the Revolutionary War as a messenger after an injury ends his potential career as a silversmith. The movie was adapted for film from the 1944 award-winning book of the same name by Esther Forbes. Here's the trailer:
The mini-TNT will start at our regular time of 8pm EST, and Johnny Tremain starts at 8:30pm EST this Thursday. Here's where you can watch or buy the movie online:
I apologize again for how late this is; it won't happen again. I'll remain consistent and post my other entries late. LOL Hope you're having a great week and I'll see you in a couple of days!
