SUTS Day 2: David Niven
David Niven is TCM's chosen star for Day 2 of this year's Summer Under the Stars.
Today's lineup: (all times in EST)
6:00 AM Dodsworth (1936)
8:00 AM Charge of the Light Brigade (1936)
10:00 AM The Way Ahead (1944)
12:00 PM Bachelor Mother (1939)
1:30 PM The Toast of New Orleans (1950)
3:15 PM 55 Days at Peking (1963)
Daily Cinema: 6:00 PM Please Don’t Eat the Daisies (1960)
8:00 PM The Pink Panther (also the Essentials) (1964)
10:00 PM Around the World in 80 Days (1956)
1:15 AM The Guns of Navarone (1961)
4:00 AM Curse of the Pink Panther (1983)
I wish they'd picked Death on the Nile for today's lineup because it most definitely would have been today's Daily Cinema pick. It's an amazing movie and I highly recommend it to both mystery and classic movie fans. Please Don't Eat the Daisies is a comedy flick that stars David Niven alongside Doris Day as a married couple who decide to move their family from the city to the country. This movie was at least partially inspired by the book of the same name, and in 1968 a series of the same name was created.
