TNT Preview: Bulldog Drummond

Hi! How was your New Year's? I hope that however you spent it, you brought the year in happy and safe, whether you were at home in pajamas (like me) or you spent your holiday out and about. But now that the holidays are over, it's back to business as usual, which brings me to this week's TNT. Not that we didn't have TNTs during the holidays, but I needed a segue. LOL This week we're watching the 1929 Pre-Code suspense film Bulldog Drummond
Wikipedia
This film, starring Ronald Colman, Joan Bennett and Lawrence Grant, is the first of many starring the ex-Army captain. One of the sequels in this series, Bulldog Drummond Escapes, was a TNT last June but this takes us back to the beginning, where we meet Bulldog as he is looking for some excitement. After advertising himself in the local newspaper, he finds said excitement...and then some. A woman answers the ad, seeking his help for her uncle, who is in a mental asylum to be treated for a nervous breakdown, but she suspects something is amiss with both the facility and the doctor treating him. Her suspicions are proven correct when the doctor later holds both her and her uncle hostage in the asylum, forcing Bulldog to rescue them both.

Because the movie is Pre-Code, it was pretty hard to find any clips of it online. The same applied to finding somewhere to stream the film online. I've heard that it can be extremely difficult to get a hold of Pre-Code movies so this wasn't much of a surprise, but I'd advise catching it on Thursday evening when it airs at 8pm EST because there's no telling when it'll air again. I hope you have a lovely week and I'll see you soon!
