I've heard of the '08 version of this movie, but I had no idea it was actually a remake of this one. This movie stars the day's featured actress, Arlene Dahl, as an adventurer's widow who comes across another group of adventurers trekking their way to what they believe may be the center of the Earth, the same trek that may have gotten her husband murdered. The adventurer who originally discovered the path to the Earth's center 300 years prior guides the way through a note he left in a large volcanic rock. His murderous descendant, who feels entitled to the results of the discovery, tags along with the group from a distance until being discovered after shooting one of the members who'd become separated from the others. What do they find at the center though? I'm not usually one for adventure films but this one sounds quite interesting and I've never seen either version or read the book they were based upon.
